Join us for a vibrant and engaging flamenco dance class designed specifically for children aged 6-10. Your child will learn essential flamenco skills, including:
Dance steps
Palmas (hand clapping)
Flamenco rhythms
In addition to mastering these techniques, your child will also develop valuable life skills such as:
Social skills
Coordination
Creativity
Body strength
Self-esteem
Throughout the class, your child will work on a fun and exciting flamenco choreography that will be showcased at the Theatre Flamenco Studio.
Class Details:
Age: 6-10 years old
Monthly sessions only
Please bring water for your child(ren)
Class starts promptly at 5:00 PM (Doors open at 4:50 PM)
Parents/guests are not allowed to stay and watch the class. To ensure a focused learning environment, please wait outside the studio while your child is in class. There are plenty of cafe and restaurant around the studio!
Flamenco shoes are not required initially, but please consider purchasing them as soon as possible.
No filming or photography is allowed without the teacher's permission.

CYNTHIA SANCHEZ (CHILDREN FLAMENCO CLASS)
New Mexican-born Cynthia Sanchez resides in San Francisco where she studies, teaches, and performs flamenco. She has been captivated by the tradition, passion, beauty, strength, and magnitude of the centuries-old art form ever since. She began her early training under Pablo Rodarte and performed in his company Dance España for 8 years. From ‘06-‘12 she studied and performed with the Juan Siddi Flamenco Theatre Company. She also worked with Maria Benitez Estampa Española, Flamenco Legacy, Teatro Nuevo Mexico and Miel Amarga during that time. In ‘06Cynthia co-founded Dance España-Albuquerque where she taught and performed. She also studied under Teodoro Morca, Marisol Enciñas, and guest artists from Spain. Inspring of ’11 Cynthia lived in Andalucia, Spain to studywith Adela Campallo, Pilar Ogalla, Juana Amaya, and El Torombo. Upon her return, she relocated to the Bay Area to study and work with companies including Theatre Flamenco of San Francisco under the direction of Carola Zertuche, La Tania Baile Flamenco, and Caminos Flamencos. She has continued to study with visiting artists from Spain including Farruquito, La Lupi, Andres Marín, Jose Maya, El Farru, Eduardo Guerrero, Alfonso Losa, Manuela Ríos, and Jesus Carmona. In 2016, she toured with Juan Siddi Flamenco Santa Fe under the arts management of Aspen Santa Fe Ballet including the debut at the Joyce Theater in New York City as well as the prestigious Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in Massacusets.With Theatre Flamenco of San Francisco, she has worked onstage with Adela Campallo in the production Somos, and with Carmen Ledesma in (R)evolution and El Rincón Flamenco. She now teaches children’s flamenco classes with Theatre Flamenco of San Francisco and recentlyreturned from a summer of studying in Spain with Pastora Galvan, El Oruco, Nazaret Reyes, and Choni. In addition to flamenco, Cynthia is a first grade teacher with SFUSD.
